What I remember when I look back at my childhood is virtually nothing at all. It’s a black voided out curtain that shields out the horrors of what went on. Residing there is no one I know personally. When I peer closer I see what appears to be my soul shattering into a billion pieces. Those pieces formed into lights that gave birth to other people and selves that reside in me. They were the many who came forward to run the show that has been my life. Their job entailed protecting me even though I wasn’t introduced to some of them until later on in life. They joined in with Heaven in helping me remember how to live, how to love and how to survive. Within those people was the dangerous, damaged self. The one that was hurt and plagued by demons reaching for addictions instead of the warrior that lives within me. The warrior that is a perfect, confidant and compassionate child of God. After being told repeatedly that I was never good enough, I was able to escape the horrors and turn it around with all of their help.  Reaching for the Warrior Within is how I found solace and comfort in a team of beings that reside in Heaven. This is for me to remember where I came from and how I survived it. I chose not to die, but instead allowed the cruelty that was inflicted empower me into something bigger, stronger and beyond this world.

Reaching for the Warrior Within is a prequel to my book, Warrior of Light: Messages from my Guides and Angels. This is my personal story and celebration in moving from a turbulent childhood to becoming the warrior of God’s light that I am today. This is an autobiographical story surrounding abuse and addictions while battling between my higher and lower selves. Everyone of us has had or still has an addiction to something. Some of these addictions are harsher than others and are not only time wasters, but they impede our growth and delay us from moving forward on our life purpose. I received assistance in improving and ridding myself of these addictions with the assistance of Heaven and my selves. They helped me heal, grow and persevere in this crash course of living several lifetimes in one.

This is for other abuse survivors who have suffered at the hands of those who we consider not evolved. We grew to be angry. Angry at our attackers. Angry at everyone else. And just angry in general. This emotional span ranges from feelings of anger to fearing the world. There is a light at the end of this forsaken tunnel. I found it, discovered it and followed it. It was the beauty that existed with me all along. We know what it was like to have no one understand or believe what happened to us. Others live in denial or speak about it as if its something to be ignored. No one wants to talk about it or hear it. When you are brought up in a loving environment, then you have no concept of how others live unless you are empathetic or a gifted actor able to walk in other people’s shoes. This is for you.

Jodie Foster delivered a raw, cracked open, moving speech on Sunday night at the Golden Globes.  I could care less about awards show and I didn’t even watch it except for the section when Jodie was being presented with the lifetime achievement in film.

There are strange, negative remarks in blogs, gossip sites and comments about Jodie Foster floating around the internet that preceded her speech.  It is terribly cryptic and eerie that these words have actually formed in someone’s mind.  These are from people who have diminished intelligence and operate purely from their lower self.  They are all angered for some reason that Foster didn’t shout the two words, “I’m gay.”  She doesn’t owe any of you anything.  She was being honored with an award for her lifetime in films.  She’s earned the right to say whatever she wants in her speech.  This isn’t some talentless Kardashian luring you all into a cesspool of garbage.  This is one of the few remaining gifted natural actors that are left out there.

It appeared to be coming mostly from the gays having an issue with her for not saying the words, “I’m gay.”  It’s funny because everyone else picked up what she was talking about except the gays, or maybe I should say the extremist gays.  Anyone who is an extremist is a bully and their behavior is essentially what they are doing.  They are bullying and harassing her because she didn’t say two words that they expected her to say.  Why were you expecting her to say anything that pertained to you?  This is about her, NOT YOU.

Others were complaining after she made a statement that her private life should be left private.  They were saying things like, ‘Well then she shouldn’t have gone to the awards show?”  Huh?  This is not someone who was ever fame hungry the way we see many trying to be in these reality shows and social networking sites.  This is someone who is a filmmaker and whose job it is to play a character in a movie.  That’s it.  She wants to do her work and have her personal home life be left alone.  You would too unless you were a fame whore.  I don’t know if any of you reading this have seen these scathing articles on the speech. It is borderline odd and psychopathic.  They have some serious issues going on within them that require some personal addressing.  The media or as I like to call them, “the ego”, loves to create drama.

Once again, the main reason she was at the Golden Globes was to collect her honor of working in films for 47 years.  What is odd is no one is celebrating that with her.  No one is talking about her movies.  They want to talk about the whole gay thing.  Who cares?  Enough with these time wasting activities that do nothing, but stall you from focusing on your life purpose.

For those of you that missed it, Jodie delivered a fun, open hearted speech that touched a little on what her life is like.  She created a family with a partner of twenty years and she saluted her mother.  She also addressed everyone’s obsession over who she is and what goes on outside of the films.  She plainly stated that she is not Honey boo-boo and therefore not interested in showcasing what her life is like when she’s not working.  That was never her and nor will it ever be.  She urged others to stop pressing for it because she wants to be left alone.

Michelle Pfeiffer is currently in Europe shooting a movie with Robert DeNiro called “Malavita”. DeNiro is a gangster and Pfeiffer is his wife who likes to blow things up. The movie is scheduled for a Spring 2013 release.

Les Miserables finally gets the movie version it’s deserved all these years.   The movie is set to be released on Christmas Day and stars Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway along with some other talented co-stars.

I’ve never been a musical fan, but Les Miserables is one of the few exceptions.  Happy to see Russell Crowe back in top form, Hugh Jackman has never looked better and I may actually be a new Anne Hathaway fan after this.

Rather than relying on post-production recordings, the esteemed ensemble of actors are singing live right on the set, aided only by an ear piece playing live piano accompaniment.  Watch the new extended first look to see what you’re in for.

Alanis Morissette is the alternative Joni Mitchell of this generation.  It’s a breath of fresh air to have an artist be so cracked open.  This album is a far cry from one of the most successful albums of all time, “Jagged Little Pill” which broke records even her own.  Since then we’ve witnessed an artist growing up and moving away from vengeful songs full of angst to the spiritually based and laced tracks of “Havoc and Bright Lights”.

This is a an exhilarating rock album with Eastern and Indian drum flair threading throughout.  Alanis Morissette always has a way with words that are only emphasized when put to music.  Her songs are heart pouring confessionals.  This album took me a couple of listens to connect with and notice the brevity of it.  It gets better with each listen.

Some stand out essential songs of note:  They are the more serious spiritual shots like, “Guardian” about acting as an angel to someone you love, the bouncy profound love song to your significant other who loves all of you, “Empathy”.  ”Celebrity” is an intense look at the world we live in now which is entirely superficial on the surface.  It’s a pretty dark uptempo heavy drum tune.  There is the powerfully spiritual “Receive” about one who gives so much, but gets nothing in return so they back away and start paying attention to themselves.  It’s one of the best songs on the album.  There is also an 80′s new wave sounding homage, “Edge of Evolution” about realizing there is more to this life beyond the drama were sitting in everyday.

Spiritual stores should put this disc on their end cap as its got some enlightened uplifting pieces.  Whether or not this is considered one of her best works or not, you can’t deny she’s an incredible artist and that still lights through here.  There are some exotic melodies as well as some rugged rock songs with grating guitar riffs like “Woman Down”, “Lens” and “Numb” which hark back to her “Jagged Little Pill”, “Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie” and “Under Rug Swept” days.  After several listens I genuinely am enjoying this and know what she’s talking about when coming full circle and taking another step up when it comes to spiritual growth.  Alanis Morissette has no doubt reached a place of peace and happiness and it shows.  Incredible woman.

I have the disc that contains the bonus tracks “Big Sur”, “Guru” and “Permission”.  All of which are beautiful, lush driving up the coast kind of songs.  ”Big Sur” and “Permission” are penetrating & could’ve or should’ve replaced “Win Win” and “Spiral” and that would’ve made this an excellent 5 star album.  (The bonus tracks might be something only Target is selling.) There was another song recorded for this album that is great, “Jekyll and Hyde” which you can purchase on iTunes and “Tantra” off of Amazon.  They are fantastic bonus tracks and should’ve been on the full CD.  Also during this recording she made “Into a King” which should’ve been on here, but you’ll have to google to find that reflective track.

Purchase Alanis Morissette’s “Havoc and Bright Lights”

I was a big fan of the Dark Shadows TV series and was excited to hear that Tim Burton was going to make the movie. I thought if anyone can create the murky dark atmosphere of the TV series it would be him. I along with others was disappointed to see the corny trailer that came out. A comedy? What? Sacrilege. I decided to see the movie anyway making my peace with the fact that this was not going to be like the TV show. I was able to separate the two and just look at it as its own piece and its own movie.

Luckily by doing that, I found that I was entertained with this film and enjoyed every minute of it. I suppose it did what its job was meant to do. Entertain. I also found that it wasn’t nearly as comedic as they made it out to be with the trailer. It was darker and more gothic and interesting. The mood as in any Tim Burton movie was offbeat and not of this world. Johnny Depp who did not look like himself made a great vampire coming to terms with being in the wrong century. Michelle Pfeiffer was stunning and as always lit up the screen with her ferocious take on the reclusive dark matriarch. The two surprises were Eva Green as Angelique Bouchard and Chloe Moretz who played Carolyn Stoddard. They both leapt gleefully into their characters prompting me to wonder who those two actors I’d never heard of were.

Critiquing this movie as its own piece without comparing it to the TV series or Tim Burton’s earlier work, I thought it was fun and entertaining. Comparing it to the TV series or Burton’s older films, then no it doesn’t hold a candle and not his best work. It was however better than Planet of the Apes, Big Fish, Alice in Wonderland and maybe even Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Sweeney Todd was a great movie, but I can only take so much of a movie where people are singing throughout it. As great as Sweeney Todd was, I’m more likely to throw this Dark Shadows on instead. Just my personal opinion.
