The man of the week is Jeremy Renner and one of the great actors of our time who steals the screen in every film he’s ever made. He was nominated for an Academy Award in “The Town” (2010) and for the “The Hurt Locker” (2008). Although he’s now on ever Hollywood dream cast list and known to many, he’s been doing this work for a very long time. He churned out killer role after role in such fantastic indie films as “North Country”, “A Little Trip to Heaven”, “12 and Holding”, “Neo Ned” and “Dahmer”.
It would be wrong of me to not start out my Man of the Week series without putting up the uncompromising Jeremy Renner.
If I could pick any guy in the world to stand next to, it would be him. I eventually had the privilege of standing next to recently and the man is brilliant. I mean the guy gives me goosebumps. In and out of character. He’s one of the greatest actors of all time.
Jeremy is on fire with not only his personality, looks, wit and intelligence…but also in his career. Get ready to see some back to back Jeremy Renner action in the coming couple of years. The boy is busy!
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is coming to theaters in December 2011.
He wrapped up shooting this past year on a dark supernatural action movie set in Germany called, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. He stars alongside Gemma Arterton as the adult versions of the famous fairy tale siblings who are now highly-skilled professional witch bounty hunters. Expect it in 3-D! The movie hits theaters in March 2012.
He then lent his sexy, gravelly voice to the Ice Age animated franchise in Ice Age: Continental Drift. The feature will hit theaters in July 2012.
He’s currently finishing up shooting in The Avengers where he’ll play the Marvel Comic character “Hawkeye”. He shares the screen with some of Hollywood’s talented actors, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Samuel Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson (whom he shares the most screentime with). The film will be a big Summer opening in May 2012.
When he wraps The Avengers he’ll be prepping to star in another franchise in the film The Bourne Legacy. A franchise that had starred Matt Damon up until late. Jeremy will be starring alongside another genius actor Edward Norton. No one can deny it’ll be a dream to watch them go toe to toe with one another. The film is already aimed for an August 2012 release date.
The man is busy, busy, busy. He’s had to open up his own discreet Production Company in order to develop some more bad ass characters in some bad ass movies. Some of the projects currently in development are a biopic of probably Jeremy’s alter ego, Steve McQueen.
With his Production Company, Jeremy, the actor-turned-filmmaker, is trying to create entertainment from an artist-based perspective. The company will provide a framework to create, develop and support the vision of actors, writers and directors across all platforms. Look for more great stuff with Jeremy Renner.
Jeremy Renner back in the 90’s. He was even a babe back then! Anyone know what Jeremy’s rings signify? Class ring, sports ring?
