Christian Bale has been one of my favorite actors since he first started acting. I liked him way before he got as big as he is now, before anyone knew who he was, before the award nominations and his tyrannical verbal feud on the set of “Terminator Salvation.” And no, that didn’t sway me from being a non-fan. I’m loyal in life and in art. I’m a rock and don’t budge. Coincidentally..so is Christian.
My respect for him as an actor is to the valley and beyond. He knows how to submerge himself deeply into a character that you forget your watching him. He’s got a knack for picking a variety of different characters that are completely different from one another. He’s successfully mastered big budget Hollywood films to independents to art house flicks.
He’s also as hot as they come…..and the fact that he’s been in the same relationship for over twelve years is hot! The guy is fiercely dedicated and loyal. Boy does it show!
As a young tyke he starred in the epic, “Empire of the Sun”, but he really began to be noticed by casting directors after Winona Ryder had him cast in the film, “Little Women”. He was in the glitter, glam rock picture “Velvet Goldmine” and even did shakespeare in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. But then his career began to take off in a big way when he became Patrick Bateman in “American Psycho”. He recently won the Academy Award for his role in “The Fighter” which is now available on DVD.
Here are some of his more notable and enjoyable films:
